How to submit your big Challenge

Submissions can take any creative form – all you need to do is to provide a short summary of your idea (max. 250 words) and communicate it in a creative way via 1 Minute creative output* of your choice by filling in a form you can access via the link Scotland’s Big Challenges Competition Submission Form.

As well as telling us the challenge, If you have some ideas for what we can do as a university to help then include these too.

With your big challenge, we encourage you to think about:

  • Who / what is affected?
  • What are the underlying causes?
  • Is this a problem related to a wider system?
  • What will happen if we don’t solve this problem?
  • Has anyone tried to solve this already?
  • Who / what is needed to create meaningful and lasting change?

*The idea needs to be presented in 1 Minute – it can be 1 Minute video, 1 Minute pitch or presented in any other creative form in 1 Minute, e.g. picture, diagram, prototype, etc.

Submissions will be accepted until 9am GMT on the 30th of January 2023.
